Nieman Road Redevelopment Will Keep The Same ‘Small Town’ Feels

Design Rendering of Nieman Road and downtown improvements

Shawnee has launched its largest public project ever, a roughly $40 million reconstruction of Nieman Road at the center of downtown. And for the first time, developers are building multimillion-dollar, modern mixed-use office buildings and high-end apartment complexes.

The City of Shawnee and their local business owners promise to keep the same small town feel despite big changes to their downtown.

The Nieman Now! Initiative began in 2016, when BHC RHODES was awarded a design contract from the City of Shawnee. The project is now nearing its completion date, slated for the end of the year.

BHC RHODES featured the Nieman Road Corridor project in a highlight video earlier this year. You can watch the video here.
