BHC was selected by Leavenworth County to provide surveying and design services to improve 2 miles of rural roadway to meet arterial/collector standards. The typical section consisted of a 36 FT wide asphalt roadway and 4 FT aggregate shoulders. The initial design was for 50 mph, to be posted at 45 mph. Following residential push-back, it was redesigned to 40 mph, posted at 35 mph. The project included several large cross-road drainage structures and a casing pipe for future sanitary extension. BHC prepared all acquisition documents and exhibits for 41 tracts.
