The Unified Government designated Minnesota Avenue as a corridor for redevelopment to support revitalization of downtown Kansas City, Kansas. BHC was selected to design a portion of Minnesota Avenue using the template set in the 7th and Minnesota Improvements and Downtown Master Plan. New sidewalk, traffic signal, ADA ramps, parking, decorative street lights, landscaping drainage improvements and mill and overlay were constructed to enhance the streetscape. BHC also provided lead inspection services for street and drainage improvements along with sidewalk replacement, street lights and a new traffic signal in the 8th Street and Minnesota Avenue intersection. The Minnesota Avenue Inspection project was funded and administered by the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS.
