Shawnee Town 1929

Shawnee Town 1929 is a three acre expansion of the Historic Shawnee Town in Shawnee, Kansas. The project consisted of the relocation and construction of eight historic structures that allow visitors to experience a typical day in the 1920’s. Three of these buildings have been modernized and have water, sewer and electrical services. One of the buildings has roof downspouts connected to an underground cistern to utilize a rainwater harvesting system to augment water use around the farm. BHC RHODES teamed with The Konrath Group and Greer Architecture on the schematic design phase and construction documents for this design-build project to meet the needs of the City’s Parks and Recreation Department and Museum.
