BHC performed inspection services on several bridges for KDOT, two in Wyandotte County and three in Leavenworth County. Lead inspection and testing were performed on the two Wyandotte County bridges. The first, a steel girder bridge on River View Avenue over I-435, received a new expansion joint at both east and west sides. The second bridge located on I-435 over Wolcott Drive, had the approach replaced along with three expansion joints. This project was completed and accepted ahead of schedule. BHC provided lead inspection services on the three Leavenworth County bridges. These steel and concrete girder bridges were 35 years old and deteriorating which required the replacement of the corral rails, bridge deck patching, 2.5” PCCP overlay, multi-layer polymer overlay, abutment repair and new approaches.
