BHC + Savoy Company moves into new Wichita office

AFTER a new buildout, the growing engineering and surveying firm has moved into their permanent office located in the historic Ice House building in Wichita.

Ten months after announcing their selection of the Ice House, BHC + Savoy Company has landed in their new home downtown, better serving the greater Wichita region.

The interior mirrors the culture and charm of Wichita, featuring exposed brick, wooden joists, and structural lumber beams accentuating the historic composition of the building within the modern space design.

Proudly displayed in the lobby entrance is a GIS map rendering of Wichita, highlighting a number of landmarks unique to the city. The graphic was designed in-house by Ashley Hunt, GIS Engineering Specialist, who works with our GIS and Public Works groups.

Kevin Honomichl, President of BHC + Savoy Company, says, “It’s a very unique environment. You immediately appreciate the design and history around the space. We knew we needed an office that would promote our culture of innovation and collaboration. This space will do exactly that.”

As the lead architect for the building’s initial renovation, Alloy Architecture was selected to design BHC + Savoy Company’s office space. Their vision for the revitalized space centered around respecting the historical nature and architecture of the building while creating an innovative space.

Technology-enhanced areas in the office allow for collaboration, which is critical to delivering their hallmark ‘No problem’ client service. All throughout the building, you can see how the building’s original details intersect with the modern materials and design.

The office spans 5,300 sq ft, featuring an open concept workspace for 20-plus employees, an outdoor patio, and a common space for gathering and entertaining.

The company has welcomed significant growth, attracting new hires and other talent from across the country to the region, and employees relocating to Wichita.

The Kansas-based engineering and surveying firm expanded to Wichita in 2022, after encouragement from local clients. One year later, the firm acquired the local, long-standing land surveying firm, Savoy Company.

Chad Stafford, President of Occidental Management, had this to say about the move, “We are excited to have BHC + Savoy Company expand their company into the Wichita market. Having them in the Ice House building brings another premier business to the downtown area.”

BHC + Savoy Company will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on January 23, in partnership with the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce.
