Bushong Joins ACEC Emerging Leaders Class of 2023

Katie Bushong joins the latest class of the Emerging Leaders Program through the American Council of Engineering Companies of Kansas.

The ACEC of Kansas Emerging Leaders Program is for individuals committed to developing their leadership abilities. This program imparts specific skills and competencies identified by top ACEC of Kansas principals as critical for leadership success. These highly interactive sessions are taught by experts in the field of business administration and people management in professional services firms.

Bushong is a Project Manager in the Public Works Group at BHC. She is a professional engineer with 16 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, cost estimating, and detailed design of large and small projects. She has a strong technical background and understanding of regulatory laws and codes of practice as well as experience in a variety of industry settings from local government to large private sector.

Outside of her engineering expertise, Bushong exemplifies leadership and dedication to the A/E/C by being an active member of the American Public Works Association, Society of Women Engineers, Kansas City Institute of Transportation Engineers, the Association of State Floodplain Managers, and the Kansas Association for Floodplain Management.

At BHC, she has become a trusted leader through actively participating in culture groups and spearheading internal programs. She is one of the many reasons BHC has been recognized as one of Zweig’s Best Firms to Work For in 2023.
