BHC completed a comprehensive audit of the City of Overland Park’s owned fiber optic cable assets to improve inventory accuracy and support ongoing operations. The audit included fiber termination panels at 30 City-owned and operated facilities and verification of splice locations in 70+ handholes. Field data collection used an ArcGIS Collector app on an iPad to assign locations and capture cable, panel capacity, port utilization, conduit, and handhole attributes. Real-time coordination between field and office teams streamlined quality control and reduced rework. The effort produced deliverables including DWG files, photos, and complete records for all panels and handholes.
