3D Laser Scanning Survey

LET'S TALK!

Saint Joseph Church

image description

Completed in 1909, St. Joseph Church featured a Gothic Revival style with prominent spires, large windows, rounded arches, clusters of columns and ornate detailing both on the building’s façade and its interior. More than 100 years later, the church requires extensive restoration and updating. BHC was selected to develop highly-detailed interior surface maps. Unlike traditional survey methods, which require significant allocations of time to produce reliable datum, our team’s use of 3D laser scanning technology allowed us to gather millions of individual data points quickly and efficiently. The resulting information was distilled into 3D maps which allowed the architectural firm directing restoration activities to better understand the project’s complexity, scope and immediate needs.
