Tyndall Air Force Base was named in honor of World War I pilot 1st Lt Frank Benjamin Tyndall. This integrated design-build project modernized an existing 115,000 SF Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) and constructed a new 2,200 SF veterinary clinic. The MTF was constructed in 1967 and significant site modifications were made to make the facility AT/FP compliant. To maintain operations, two Temporary Phasing Facilities (TPFs) were installed on site while site construction is being completed in four phases. The veterinary clinic included the construction of site facilities including water quantity and quality measures meeting Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) requirements. Both the veterinary clinic and medical treatment facility are LEED Silver Certifiable.
