BHC Brings Home Two Capstone Awards
We are beyond thrilled to have been a part of two projects that received 2021 Capstone Awards from the Kansas City Business Journal.
Promontory in Overland Park won in the Mixed-Use category. This $97.5 million mixed-use redevelopment project includes 290 apartments and more than 28,000 SF of retail space surrounding a multi-story parking garage at the northeast corner, along 89th Street.
Later phases of the project will include 130 apartments over as much as 38,500 SF of retail space in the center of the project. The project also calls for three new stand-alone retail buildings along Metcalf Avenue and 51,000 SF of new inline retail construction near 91st Street.
BHC completed the surveying, platting, site design, stormwater analysis, underground stormwater detention, traffic analysis, site lighting design, water main extension, sanitary sewer extension and utility relocations.
The UG’s community grocery project brought home the Community Impact Award. The construction of The Merc Co+op is a significant addition to the revitalization of Downtown Kansas City, Kansas at the corner of 5th and Minnesota. The $2.76 million project opened last August.
Since 1974, The Merc Co+op has provided communities a place to shop, gather, eat and learn by offering real food and sustainable products at reasonable prices through cooperative ownership and responsible commerce.
BHC provided civil site, surveying, stormwater, traffic, landscape, lighting and irrigation design services for the development.
