BHC celebrates recent leadership graduates
Over the years, BHC has participated in the Leadership Overland Park program, hosted by the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce.
Leadership Overland Park (LOP) was established to develop leaders who are passionate about the future of their city and community. This leadership program educates the future leaders of our region and prepares them to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. Emphasis is given to the City of Overland Park, Johnson County, the Kansas City Metro Area and the State of Kansas.
Founded in 1983, LOP is a program of the Overland Park Chamber Foundation and has graduated over 930 alumni. BHC has been privileged to have had nominees selected for both the LOP Class of 2020 and Class of 2021.
Eric Byrd, P.E. is a Senior Project Engineer in our Development Segment. Eric was selected to be a part of the LOP Class of 2020. Like everything else in 2020, the LOP program took on a virtual approach, bringing a whole new outlook for the program. Eric’s class completed the program in June of 2020 and celebrated with the first virtual graduation of the LOP program.
Mike Makris, P.E. is a Project Engineer in our Development Segment. Mike was selected for this year’s LOP class. Over the past six months, Mike and his class committed to 10 full‐day sessions from January‐June. Sessions focus on specific aspects of Overland Park such as city, county and state government, history, education, politics and current issues facing the city, county, metro area and state. During each session participants learn to use the skills necessary to be leaders in our region.
The LOP Class of 2021 celebrated their graduation ceremony on June 18.
