New Subaru dealership in Olathe will feature dog park
The new Subaru dealership will be located on 9.13 acres at the northeast corner of 119th Street and Renner Boulevard in Olathe.
The City’s Planning Commission unanimously approved the final plat during the December 13th meeting. BHC attended the meeting representing the project as the Engineer and is partnered with Slaggie Architects, Inc. of Kansas City and Iowa-based Baxter Construction Company.
The Kansas City Business Journal reached out to BHC Project Engineer, Austin Lage, P.E., following the Planning Commission meeting to get more insight about the project. The project plans include an underground detention system to conserve space and help preserve water quality from stormwater. And like many across the country, the project team has faced construction delays and they have had to increase lead time to secure construction materials.
“We’re still designing the same way with the same materials and same methods,” Austin Lage told the Kansas City Business Journal. “The only major change has been the time it takes to go from having drawings to actually getting materials in to start building the project.”
Subaru of America is best known for their commitment to charitable giving. To align with their ‘Subaru Loves Pets’ campaign, the new dealership will feature a dog park for visitors and customers.
BHC has completed several other automotive dealerships around the metro including Audi Shawnee Mission, Reed Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram of Kansas City, Reed Hyundai of Kansas City, and Legends Honda.
