When the traffic signal at 6th Street and State Avenue reached the end of its service life, the Unified Government faced a familiar problem: an intersection that could not be reliably maintained just as development activity was ramping up nearby. The Unified Government hired BHC to package the right improvements together, designing parking bump-outs, mill and overlay work at the intersection, and a full traffic signal replacement. The updates build on recent enhancements at 6th Street and Minnesota Avenue, helping create a more consistent, better-functioning downtown corridor.
