BHC provided site civil engineering and surveying for the Shawnee Mission Audi Dealership and adjacent parking lot in Merriam, Kansas. The surveying services provided for the project included an ALTA/NSPS survey, platting and construction staking. The project was constructed on sites where a hotel and motel stood until they were demolished for this project. The entitlement process was particularly complicated as it dealt with three separate owners who had existing cross-parking and fire access agreements which were not feasible with the proposed site layout. The final project included design of a 5 acre site and a new parking lot. Notable requirements for the dealership site include detention requirements that set the existing condition as a greenfield (rather than a hotel), careful coordination with KDOT as the street is KDOT right-of-way and coordination with Johnson County Wastewater.
