BHC provided shore-end landing and outside plant (OSP) cable design for the Transpacific Fiber-Optic Cable Project near Eureka, California. The team completed design and permitting through Mendocino County, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the California Coastal Commission, and the California State Lands Commission to support on-time, and under-budget delivery. Detailed design included a beach manhole, four 5-inch steel horizontal directional drill (HDD) pipes, and a beach grounding bed outside Manchester, California. BHC also designed OSP connections from each beach manhole to the power feed equipment room located approximately 1 mile inland.
