BHC assisted the City of Edwardsville in identifying bike/ped projects that would be eligible under the Federal Transportation Alternatives (TA) and/or Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funding programs. The City chose to prepare an application for constructing new concrete sidewalk around the City’s municipal campus (City Hall, police, and fire departments) and connect to City Park, including a new pedestrian bridge installation. On-street bike lanes were also included to create a bicycle loop that connects to existing riverfront trails. BHC assisted with preparation of the successful funding application and was subsequently awarded the design contract for these improvements, scheduled to be let by KDOT in late 2025.
