BHC performed OSP engineering/construction ride out (CRO) for 5,700 miles of aerial and buried fiber optic cable for the Google Fiber FTTH Deployment project. We also provided pole joint use and permitting hundreds of miles of this same cable. The CRO entailed desktop mapping and analysis of the preliminary fiber design followed by field walk-outs. Permitting included creating, submitting and tracking permit applications for aerial and buried fiber routes to all jurisdictions for the City of San Antonio, Texas DOT and Railroad. Joint use responsibilities included field collection, space planning and structural analysis of aerial spans including approval from pole owners. BHC developed customized reports addressing constructability issues and design change recommendations for the Google Fiber FTTH Deployment.
