Families in the Williamson Farms neighborhood needed a safer, more predictable walk to and from Edwardsville Elementary School. The City of Edwardsville set out to close a key gap along 104th Street and selected BHC to design a sidewalk extension that supports students during the school year and improves everyday pedestrian safety. The design adds 1,900 LF of sidewalk along 104th Street, connecting the existing walk at the school on the south to Metropolitan Avenue on the north. A 300-LF connector trail provides direct access to the cul-de-sac at Barber Avenue and 104th Terrace, an important student crossing point. Future phases extend the network farther north to create a continuous, safe route from K-32 to Shawnee Road.
