Grandview Main Street Revitalization

Main Street is Grandview’s front porch, but nine blocks between the downtown business district and Interstate 49 needed a reset, aging pavement, storm drainage needs, and a chance to make the corridor safer and more welcoming on foot. The City of Grandview set the vision with a concept plan and partnered with BHC to deliver construction plans for Phases 1–4, including roadway and drainage improvements, mill and overlay, streetscape and landscaping upgrades, pedestrian-scale lighting, parking refinements, and traffic signal enhancements. Phase 5 extended the same improvements west to better serve the adjacent downtown blocks and provide access to the planned Farmers Market site. Along the way, we coordinated with the public, downtown business owners, the Historic Preservation Council, and City officials to protect Main Street’s character while improving its look and feel, including upgraded signals at Grandview Road that matched the new pedestrian-scale lighting.
