When the City of Merriam no longer had a licensed engineer on staff, leaders still needed steady, practical guidance for daily decisions and long-term capital planning. They selected BHC for on-call support, giving staff a trusted resource for fast answers and clear recommendations. Since 2015, BHC has partnered with City staff and officials on planning reviews, capital budgeting, funding applications, area meetings, construction support, and task-order design. This flexible model scales to Merriam’s needs without slowing day-to-day operations. One task order focused on repairing a failing gabion wall in the Quail Creek storm channel near AdventHealth’s main campus. With no as-builts available, BHC collected field GPS data, completed GIS analysis, produced plans, and mapped the structure and adjacent utilities, helping the City anticipate constraints and enter coordination meetings prepared.
