Renner Road, under Shawnee Mission Parkway, had a storm system that was installed by KDOT in the 1970’s. Due to aging, inlets and pipes were in bad condition and were replaced. The gutter spread and inlet locations were evaluated along Renner Road to determine whether additional inlets were needed. Pipes to the east of Renner Road under the concrete embankment were lined using cured-in-place-piping (CIPP) to reduce need for reconstruction of the embankment. Evaluation of a smooth walled pipe with a smaller diameter was performed to ensure adequate capacity of pipes.
