95th Street and Santa Fe Trail Drive Intersection

95th Street and Santa Fe Trail Drive Intersection

BHC was selected by the City of Lenexa, Kansas to design improvements at the 95th Street and Santa Fe Trail Drive intersection. The original project limits included 1,000 FT along 95th Street and 700 FT along Santa Fe Trail Drive. The northern project limit along Santa Fe Trail Drive was extended 1,800 FT to Pflumm Road. Improvements included addition of right turn lanes, roadway widening, mill and overlay, curb and sidewalk replacement, ADA-compliant ramp construction, retaining wall construction, enclosed storm sewer system expansion, streetlight installation, and traffic signal replacement. The project required extensive coordination with BNSF Railway, right-of-way acquisition, utility coordination, permitting, and collaboration with Parks and Recreation for a monument and trail adjacent to Santa Fe Trail Drive. The project was funded through Johnson County CARS.
