Promontory is reshaping the northeast corner near 89th Street into a mixed-use destination, and the development team needed infrastructure and approvals that could keep pace with a phased buildout. The first phase delivers 290 apartments and more than 28,000 SF of retail wrapped around a multi-story parking garage. Future phases add 130 apartments over up to 38,500 SF of retail in the project core, three standalone retail buildings along Metcalf Avenue, and 51,000 SF of new inline retail near 91st Street. BHC supported the effort from entitlement through construction with surveying, platting, legal descriptions for rezoning and TIFs, and construction stakeout, as well as site design, stormwater analysis and detention, traffic analysis, site lighting design, water main and sanitary sewer extensions, and utility relocations.
This project was a winner of the Mixed-Used 2021 Capstone Award from Kansas City Business Journal.
